Wear To Work Wednesday

Jacket (Zara - old, also seen here in 2013); Shirt (J Crew - purchased several years ago); Skirt (J Crew Factory - Old, also seen here last Spring); Shoes (Calvin Klein - old); Necklace (Accessory Concierge)

What She Says:

I have never worn all of these pieces together, despite the fact that I have owned several of these items for a long time.  What's so valuable about classic pieces like a structured woven shirt and a blue blazer is that they will always be in style.  As a result, you can go "shopping" in your own closet for a "new" outfit.  Just make sure that you include classic styles in a bright color or pattern to breathe life in to your looks.  I have and will continue to get a lot of wear from this classic pencil skirt in a bold floral pattern.

What He Says:

Welcome to the "green" edition of Two-Way Mirror.  Today, we're recycling!  This is one fashion tip that I also endorse.  You can spend more on classic pieces (like a navy blazer or a good pair of jeans) because they are typically more durable and don't go out of style.  Don't you have that one item in your closet that you feel you can never throw out?

The opposite of this tip is to endorse every ridiculous fashion trend that comes along.  For example, did you know that JNCO jeans are (gasp) making a comeback?  If you're not familiar with this fashion blight, JNCO jeans are the original "why the hell won't that kid pull up his pants?" item from the '90s.  Put away your glow sticks and pacifiers, kids.  The rave is over.
