You know the feeling that you get when you open your closet…and don't feel excited about wearing anything you own? Much to Joe's amazement I have been suffering with that feeling lately. When we decided to pop out for sushi for an impromptu date night, I had to think fast in terms of choosing an outfit. Sometimes it is as easy as reaching for old familiar friends: casual denim shorts, an embellished t-shirt and a classic wedge.

Ladies, take note. Although we appreciate it when you get all dolled up for date night, you can often get away with a more "low maintenance" ensemble. Allie was ready to go in in no time, which I appreciate…especially when we have reservations.
On to a related topic, have you noticed that every single female on earth is wearing jean shorts these days? Somehow, they came back into style for girls, but not guys. And sometimes they're high-waisted denim "mom shorts." Blah. Not flattering, unless you're into long butts. Thankfully, Allie kept it closer to the "Daisy Duke" side of the house. If they're good enough for a young Catherine Bach, they're good enough for my wife!
