Pastel


Jacket (Forever 21); Blouse (Banana Republic - old, similar one here); Pants and Shoes (Purchased for me by Wardrobe Therapy); Sunnies (gifted from Ashley)

What She Says:

 As soon as the weather began to turn here in Columbus, I found myself gravitating towards pastel.  This pink jacket impulse buy from Forever 21 seemed like a great idea in the store, but...then I started to wonder if it was really "do-able".  I actually think it looks pretty cute with light blue and I may even try to sneak it in to fall with dark denim, a t-shirt, and boots.
What He Says:

 Why is it that pastel colors look just fine on girls, but not guys?  I had a girlfriend who once bought me a lavender sweater.  With some reluctance, I wore it to work and was mercilessly taunted.  That lavender sweater never saw the light of day again...and the girlfriend didn't see the end of the year.  I think that's the rub: a guy wearing a pastel shirt looks like his girlfriend/wife dressed him.  And that sends a message to other females: "Don't bother, ladies.  This guy is obviously not picking out his own clothes."  You girls are pretty crafty.

 But this isn't about me or crazy girlfriends.  It's about Allie...and I think she looks spring fresh...like a Downey dryer sheet!  I'm kinda over the heart-shaped sunglasses, though.  I mean, what is this, a Neon Trees video?  But if she and her BFF wanna wear them, that's cool.  I'll stick to my Ray-Ban aviators.

    Heck yeah we wanna wear out heart sunnies! Do you know how many compliments those things have earned me?? I protect those sunnies with all of my might (and Madonna arms).

    Allie: I LOVE this outfit! It's perfect for a cool summer evening! You look beautiful in pastel.

    Joe: I'm getting you some BFF heart sunnies.

      I dig the Neon Trees, too. Even though it is from their last album, I still think "Animal" is a great pop song. Hey, we should make this a music blog!

      I don't hate...I celebrate! OK, maybe I was hating a little. Remember, though, I have been looking at that same pair of shades for months. With pastels, denim, swimwear, formalwear...

      I don't think anyone (including me) wants to see my mug on this blog. Besides, that lavender sweater has gone the way of the dodo.
