Skirt (The Limited - old, also seen here), Jacket (H&M - old, similar here), Blouse (Mexx - purchased in Montreal), Shoes (Calvin Klein - old, purchased for me by Wardrobe Therapy) |
I love the structure and uniqueness of this skirt. It feels modern and fresh even though I have had it for almost four years. There was a time where the pattern (and the mere fact that it was a skirt and not pants) would have scared me enough to steer clear of it. Seek out unique items that have something special and then pair it with the neutral items that you already own. The goal should be work appropriate without being boring.
What He Says:
Hey I like the skirt, too! I mean...not on me, but in general. I have to admit, I didn't know this particular garment was four years old, but that is a pleasing bit of info. For every four year-old skirt, it seems there is a blouse that lasts one year, or a pair of shoes that last six months. Fortunately, Allie is a pretty good recycler. Furthermore, I am glad she's no longer scared of skirts/dresses. Because, you know, I like to see the gams every now and then. Does anyone else still say "gams?" No?
