Splurge

Dress (Tucker - old, similar style by Tucker here); Necklace (Accessory Concierge); Shoes (Purchased for me by Wardrobe Therapy); Blazer (H&M - old, similar here)

What She Says:

If you have been reading this blog since the beginning, you know that I am all about a deal.  That being said, sometimes you just want to splurge on something beautiful.  Almost two years ago, I purchased this silk dress from Tucker.  It was more money than I have ever spent at once on one item.  My heart was beating so fast when my card was swiped and it was beating even faster driving home when I realized I would have to tell Joe what I had done.  It was just so beautiful and special and I wanted to be the kind of girl who would confidently wear a dress like this.  I wonder now why I waited so long.

What He Says:

Jeez, you'd think I was the Gestapo or something.  I can totally understand a splurge every now and then.  I purchase guitars instead of dresses, but I get it.  My preference, however, is to get a heads-up in advance rather than play a post-purchase game of "Guess How Much it Cost?"  I don't know if anyone will get a Made reference (hilarious and quotable movie), but I sometimes feel like Peter Falk: "I could have used a call."

  2. Sorry Joe, I'm missing the Made reference...wahh wahhh!

I love your splurge! I think it's especially great to spurge when you know you can wear the item for years, which you obviously have. It makes the sting a little less ;)

  3. I once bought a $200 leather vest. I've worn it once. Perhaps now you feel better about your splurge. :)
