White Leather
What She Says:
Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere was one of the first bloggers that I became addicted to...when she wrote her book I pre-ordered it months in advance. She has a way of dressing and decorating and entertaining that is approachable, classic, and not too fussy. Recently, she posted the above "crave or save" post about a white leather jacket. The "save" option was still too steep for me at $116. I vowed to find an option that I liked just as well and would save even more. I purchased the option above online from Forever 21 for $39 and it is already on its way to me. I can't wait to wear it over tank tops with denim or shorts, or pair it with a floral sundress instead of reaching for a cardigan.
What He Says:
My immediate response when I saw this picture: "Sloane Peterson!" When Allie gets this jacket, we are going to borrow my buddy's dad's vintage Ferrari, hijack a parade, and maybe catch a Cubs game. It will be a day fit for Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago! Now where is my Yello cassette?
I have to give my wife credit, though. As these pictures indicate, her purchase of a white leather jacket could have ended three different ways. The vignette starts like this: "So how much did it cost?"
Answer #1: $39 - I don't even flinch. My response: "cool." Maybe I worry it will fall apart after three weeks, but then I remember my wife's fickle tastes.
Answer #2: $116 - I exhale deeply. Then I give Allie my patented "slow blink." My eventual response: "Well, if you really want it, that's fine."
Answer #3: $1,368 - I am driving us to couples' therapy.

joe, you're killing me! that vignette sounds strangly familiar. i usually start with, "i got it at walgreens" and see how that goes over.
ReplyDeleteWalgreen's? For clothes? You might be shooting too low to be believable. I recommend anything in the Target to Macy's range for maximum credibility.
